Human papillomavirus (HPV) affects the outer layer of the skin this causes the common skin growth warts. There are up to 60 different types of wart, the most common one which affects the hands, fingers and arms and sometimes other areas of the body is called verruca vulgaris. The hands, fingers and arms are the most common place to get warts because these areas are more prone to injury which warts tend to prefer.
